Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has revealed the reason behind her single status and blames director Punit Malhotra for the same.
Ananya has been capturing hearts with her on-screen portrayals in films like Student of the Year 2 (2019) and Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019).
However, the stunning starlet is currently single and this may come as a surprise to many of her fans.
Ananya and Punit came together on Komal Nahta’s popular chat show, Starry Nights Gen Y (2020).
On the show, Ananya revealed that she is not in a relationship because of Punit’s protective nature as he does not allow people to approach her.
During the promo shared on Instagram by Zee Café India, Ananya can be heard complaining. She said:
“The fact that I am single is because of Punit Malhotra. Because he doesn’t let anyone hit on me.”
The actress then flirtatiously tries a pick-up line on Punit. She said:
“Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again?”
Previously, Ananya Panday has revealed that her Bollywood crush is Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) co-star Kartik Aaryan.
The pair have been spotted on numerous occasions together on parties and dinner dates.
According to an interview with the Hindustan Times, the actress spoke about how the rumours do not affect her. She said:
“We actually laugh it off together. My dad (Chunky Panday) is an actor so I know that all these things come with the industry.
“I don’t think these rumours or anything for that matter changes the equation between us.”
“Just because people are talking about certain things doesn’t mean I am going to stop spending time with him you know.
“We work together and enjoy spending time together.”
The actress, who is currently two films old made her Bollywood debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 (2019) opposite Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria.
Ananya Panday then starred in Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) with her crush Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar.
On the work front, the actress has two upcoming films in the pipeline.
These include Maqbool Khan’s Khali Peeli (2020) alongside Ishaan Khatter and Shakun Batra’s untitled film opposite Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
